This weekend I went home for a few different reasons, and it was a jam-packed weekend! After worring about if the weather was going to clear up so that I could make it home in once piece on Friday, I was rushing back in the same fashion hoping to miss the weather once again.
Friday right when I got home, My mom and I went to one of our family friends restaurants, Nightingale. It is a super cool restaurant with fun food and a lot of cool original drinks! If you are ever in Minneapolis and want to try something different, I highly recommend it.
Then Saturday, I was up before the sun it seemed! We had to get up early to get ready for my sisters Conformation at the Cathedral of St.Paul in St.Paul. Such a beautiful church ( I will post a picture below) and a really nice and packed service. I think almost 200 kids were confirmed that morning by the Archbishop, which is pretty cool. It was too cold out though to wear cute sandals to Church! Dang snow! Then later that night we went to Macaroni Grill for dinner to celebrate my sisters birthday, which was on Sunday.
Sunday was another early day, as we had to go to church again so that my sister could be presented to everyone along with her class. Not as early as Saturday, but I still didn't get to sleep in this weekend! It was my sisters birthday too, so we went out to breakfast after church with some of our family. Then the drive back here was horrible! Snow and ice in the city, and rain the whole rest of the way.
Sounds like you had a very full weekend. Mine mimicked yours a bit. I was done in St. Paul all of last week for training and the drive home to the North Shore was horrible. I suppose I felt the same as you, I just want to get HOME! I am so glad a stumbled across your post as I often have to go to St. Paul/Minneapolis for work and it is always nice to hear about fun places to go! I will have to see if some co-workers would like to check out Nightingale with me. The twin cities always has so much to do! I love the picture you posted. We are Catholic too and what an experience that had to have been to be there with your sister. Absolutely beautiful! Glad you made it back to school in one piece. Driving in horrible conditions is always so stressful and then to have a pile of homework waiting for you after a busy weekend and the stress of driving is never fun!
