HAWAIIAN WEEK!!!

WOW. What a week. Sorry I have posted in a while, this week has been absolutely nuts!! And it was a short week! It felt like it was 4 weeks long but I loved every minute of it. Hawaiian Week- if you aren't sure what it is- is basically our winter homecoming.  The week started off with a fun Mentalist show.  Eric Dittelman was the mentalist and he was crazy good! I couldn't believe how he could tell what you were thinking or predict the outcomes of certain tricks.  It was amazing!  On Wednesday  you could get a free haircut in the SC done by the cosmetology school in Pipestone.  Thursday there there was a 90's dance, and it was super fun to dance the night away and blow off some steam! Then on Friday  the weekend of basketball started!! (my favorite part! :] )  Friday we played Upper Iowa, and then Saturday we played Winona.

In the midst of all these activities, I had dance practice every evening! I don't think I sat down for more than 20 minutes, or so it seemed.  But we worked out behinds off and we looked amazing this weekend!! (videos to come shortly!)  The crowd loved our dances and it feels amazing to know that people do watch and care about us!! It was definitely a struggle to get to this weekend and to be able to even perform at the games, but in the end everything worked out and we got to perform!! And it was the best feeling ever!! I love my team so much!

Also on Saturday, we had to give tours to prospective students.  Hawaiian night tours are some of the most fun tours to give during the school year because everyone is so excited for the game that evening and it the energy is nuts! To the left here is a picture of all the SMSU Ambassadors getting ready for Hawaiian Night tours! We all love to dress up in our leis to show our school spirit!

My roomate, Casie and I before tours!
Happy Hawaiian Night!

So, thats all for now! I am sure more pictures and videos are to come here as they are added to Facebook  I hope you all had a great weekend as well!

  1. So fun to see these pictures, Katey! They made me feel as if I'd attended at least part of Hawaiian night-- my husband and I had to miss it, since we were out of town at an opera. It looked like a blast-- and it sounds like you didn't have a moment of rest!
